File # 2017

This Thanksgiving weekend will hopefully be a little easier for some individuals in need thanks to the donations from staff at the North Vancouver RCMP Detachment.

For some people on the North Shore sometimes just having enough food to eat can be a real challenge. This is often seen by the officers and staff of the North Vancouver RCMP. In response to this, a call went out for donated food and clothing items that would be given to the local North Shore relief agency, Harvest Project.

This past Tuesday, just in time for the Thanksgiving weekend, all the donated items were brought down to the Harvest Project. Numerous boxes of non-perishable food items and bags of clothing were collected to help replenish their supplies.

Because we can - the intent was to help make the lives of others just a little bit easier, said Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP. This generosity truly reflects the heart of our policing community.

There are many local North Vancouver residents who depend on the generous services of the Harvest Project which is located at 1073 Roosevelt Crescent, North Vancouver.
